    • Just read your Ten keys to permanent weight loss, and I love that you outlined everything you did. Thanks for encouraging me….I know I can do it, but YES, I will have to make some sacrifices.

        Yep. I’ll be the first to admit it is VERY difficult, but you have to stay focused and not let yourself or others beat you down when you splurge or get off track once in a while.

        It’s easier to think of it as a process and lifestyle of becoming a healthy eater and slowly weaning yourself off all the garbage. Some can do this cold turkey (which is what I did), others are better off taking off one or two different things a week until the cumulative effect over a month or two is cutting out all the junk. For some, it just may take a little longer, but the end result is healthier eating and weight loss.

    BTW, I see you use paprika also.
    You know I have to joke about ever since I heard Oprah say on one of her shows, after telling person cooking to add paprika (something like) “y’all won’t get what ‘we’ mean about paprika if you ain’t colored folk”. Yeah…really!
    I’m really liking yur blog! You not only make foods I love! โ™ฅโ™กโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ….but #confession …I need to lose weight & exercise! You’re doing better thn me. I was in a bit of a funk, now I’ve got to catch up. Thats much harder. And i’ve never had to!!! Blessed one of those 90 lb’ers that could eat anything. BUT an addiction to starbucks & fishing changed all that (okay…and AGE!).

    Thank you for stopping by my back yard (or kitchen, in the case of the post you liked). I will definitely try your easy tomato sauce recipe. It looks much quicker and easier on the hands than blanching the tomatoes first and then skinning them and *then* cooking up a sauce.
